Chili’s Honey Chipotle Chicken Crispers

Chili’s Honey Chipotle Chicken Crispers. Is the most popular copycat recipe on my site.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon white vinegar
2 tsp ground chipotle chile pepper powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tbsp hot sauce
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp garlic powder
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
3/4 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Instructions:
Make honey-chipotle sauce by combining all ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat until boiling.Reduce heat and simmer for 2 minutes, then remove from heat.
Heat the canola oil in the fryer to 350F. Whisk together all ingredients except the flour, after all combined then you add the flour.Make the breading by combining all ingredients in another pan.
When you are ready to fry the chicken, dip each piece of chicken into the batter. Lift the chicken out of the batter and let some of the excess drip off. Toss the chicken into the dry breading and coat completely. Drop the breaded chicken into the hot oil and fry for 4 minutes, or until golden brown.Remove chicken from oil and allow to drain on paper towels. When all the chicken tenders are done, drop them into a large glass or metal bowl. Pour the sauce over the top, and toss gently until all the chicken tenders are coated with the sauce.

how much chickenn
I usually use 3 chicken breast.
I’ve had this at Chilis. I refer to that restaurant as my “Lab” I return to order it to compare mine. It’s always great! I’ve made it several times. They serve them on waffles so still need to figure those out. They’re always crisp crunchy sweet! Great with that chipotle. I’ve made them with wings, as well as drum sticks. Any chicken breaded and fried are good even without batter, just flour works too! So you can lightly pan fry in less oil. Then pour the sauce over them and finish in the oven, for that sweet sticky yummy. But wow! It’s all in that sauce!!
I have been told to use this sauce on fish as well.
These are really amazing we make them about once a week. My son can’t get enough of them. Thank you for the great recipe ?
Glad you and your son likes them.
Amazing recipe. Tastes just like the real deal!
Thank you for your kind words.
Can the egg be substituted with something else?
I just ran out and I dont see myself running out for eggs only.
Any suggestions for something common already in the cabinet or fridge?
Any big difference with the outcome if no egg or substitute?
Cant wait to try this!
Thanks in advance
If you don’t have an egg I don’t think it’s going to hurt not to add the egg. The batter may not stick the way it should. Or if you happen to have buttermilk use that instead of the milk and egg.
Aw, okay.
Looks like I’ll have to go out for the eggs.
I want this to be perfect!
Thank you.
Hope you like it. ?
Heavy cream works well in place of eggs too. I’ve used it many times instead of eggs, it allows a nice thick crust that is nice and flaky.
Thanks for the tip.
I’m the executive chef at Millstone Foods, LLC in West Palm Beach, Florida. Previously I was an executive private chef in some of the amazing private residential homes in Florida. Another words I was a full time chef for rich folks with a lot of money. I’ve never mastered crispy chicken like the ones you get at KFC. Although I hate KFC food, this recipe makes it like them with a lot of crisp on the chicken. I also never leave feedback, but this recipe using our Gluten Free Flour went beyond what we were expecting. Truly the best fried chicken recipe I’ve ever come across in the 12 years I’ve been cooking professionally and this deserves all the credit and then some.
Well thank you for your kind words. I’m glad u enjoyed it.
What brand if hot sauce did you use?
I used the cheapest one available which in my case was Trappey’s Red Devil Cayenne Peper Sauce.
Just made this Tonight for the first time, I get it almost every time at Chili’s, and it was so good!!!! I added a tad more of the Chipotle chili powder, I like mine a little extra spicy, and they were perfect! Thanks so so much!!!
You are welcome.

Thanks for making a video clip of this recipe. Only thing I don’t use is regular chili powder, I use chipotle chile pepper powder.
Hi,
Would this be good served with white rice?
Erin. I never tried it with rice. I am quite sure it will taste good.
I absolutely love Chilis sauce so I was hoping to make wings with this receipe and couldnt find the ground chipotle pepper so ended up using Southwest Chipotle.. not spot on but definitely good!! hope to find the seasoning at a different grocery store! Thanks!!
