You know pure vanilla extract is not cheap. It’s cheaper to make it yourself. You only need two ingredients, Vodka and vanilla beans, my choice is Madagascar Vanilla Beans.

Instructions
Cut with a knife or use scissors the vanilla bean in half. So the beans are exported. Place the beans in a clean sterile jar. Pour the 2 cups of Vodka over the beans. Store the vanilla extract at room temperature out of direct sunlight. 6 months later you can start using the homemade vanilla extract. As you begin to use your vanilla extract you can add Vodka each time.
