Marinara Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 (29 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • or 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can tomato puree and 1/4 cup water
  • 2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 whole bay leaf
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil and cover. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 to 45 minutes.
